Below are some of the top organisations that support the dissemination of information about speech, language and associated communication difficulties: 

NAPLIC

Promotes and increases the awareness and understanding of children and young people with speech, language and associated communication needs amongst the professionals involved in meeting their needs. 

ICAN

Children's communication charity with 2 main objectives: 

  • To support children's and young people's speaking and understanding needs to ensure they get the best help they need. 
  • To bring about change to the services available to children with speaking and understanding needs. 

AFASIC

Their aim is to promote understanding, acceptance, equal opportunities, and inclusion for children and young adults with speech and language difficulties. They provide information and training for both parents and professionals. 

The Communication Trust

This is a membership body made of more than 50 community and voluntary sector (not for profit) organisation which support children's speech, language and communication needs.
