ICT Support

Support for ICT

  • The ICT Facilitator works with Children and Young People 0 to 25 years with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in mainstream schools (maintained and academies), some non-maintained nurseries and some specialist provision.

Who the service provides for

  • Support is given to children and young people with an EHC Plan
  • Support is provided for children who need specialist equipment to access the curriculum

How the service is accessed

  • Referral is through the Integrated SEND Service and other relevant professionals

Support may include

  • Monitoring and recording progress
  • Support to ensure access to the curriculum
  • Advice and training of the use and management of specialist ICT equipment and software
  • Working with child/young person as appropriate
  • Advice and support at school transfer
  • Training for school staff, other professionals and parents
  • Advice on levels and type of adult ICT support required
  • Contribution to Annual Review, review meetings and multi-professional meetings
  • Liaison with other professional services and agencies
  • Liaison with parents/carers
  • Loan of equipment and resources
  • Written assessment reports as appropriate
  • Telephone support
  • Advice on use and maintenance of specialist equipment and materials
  • Monitoring of home/school loan agreements
