Our toolkit aims to support schools in the understanding, active implementation and embedding of SEN support within their schools, as a whole school approach.
We want this to be a resource that schools actively use and revisit, to ensure that they have the tools to provide for the range of SEN needs at the earliest opportunity.
The toolkit has been put together collaboratively with:
- Educational Psychologists
- Children and young people
- Health professionals
- Early Help support
- Participation workers
The resource will evolve over time to reflect the changing picture of SEN and ensure that resources reflect current best practices and support implementation within any school setting.
Feedback from children, young people and families has told us that they want to understand and be involved in the identification of additional needs and be fully involved in planning and review of support. The Toolkit aims to provide resources that facilitate schools working with families collaboratively, in an open and honest way.
