Working at Height Training

Working at Height Training

Each and every year the HSE statistics show that falls from height account for a high number of fatal accidents at work and thousands of major injuries.

Fatalities resulting from working at height remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths.

This training is carried out by a certified CITB (construction, industry and training board) practitioner. It will provide you with sufficient information and knowledge to competently:

  • complete working at height risk assessments
  • identify hazards
  • understand the risk assessment process
  • apply the principles of prevention

There will also be a practical element to this course with the demonstration of equipment.

Safety shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions on the day of the course is recommended.

Suitable for - all staff who undertake any tasks or maintenance work that involves using a leaning ladder or tall stepladders. Where a risk assessment has demonstrated that the use of a stepladder or kick stool is justified because of the low risk and short duration of use, following the working at height policy 10.2 will provide suitable and sufficient training for their use. Please speak to a member of the Health and Safety Team if you are unsure.

Refresher training required? - yes, every three years
