This course will explore how to build positive and productive relationships with parents and carers. It will identify how schools can work with families at an early stage to reduce barriers and promote a collaborative approach to supporting the holistic needs of the child(ren).
Outcome:
- Understand how to positively engage with parents, particularly those with additionally vulnerable children
- Wider understanding of why parents/carers may find it difficult to engage
- Recognise factors to consider in working with additionally vulnerable children and families
- Hints and -tips for nurturing positive and effective relationships with parents/carers, which enables positive engagement and change for their child(ren)
- Case study discussion - theory into practice.
