Exploitation risks and our vulnerable children
Exploitation risks and our vulnerable children
This training is delivered by a specialist in contextual safeguarding from the social care team in Children’s Services. It will identify why our vulnerable children and young people are more at risk of exploitation of all kinds and then explore some trauma informed preventative and reactive strategies which schools can utilise to promote a culture which feels ‘safe’ and, if needed, helps to better understand, and ‘contain’ the risk.
Outcome:
-
Gain an understanding of the reasons why our CLA, CIN and CP pupils are more vulnerable to exploitation.
-
Identify some of the warning signs of exploitation with our already complex children and young people.
-
Explore some of the trauma informed strategies we can implement in schools to better understand and reduce the risk of vulnerable children and young people becoming exploited.
-
Identify what support is available if vulnerable children and young people experience exploitation.
